Umweltbewusstes Wohnen und nachhaltige Ressourcen-Nutzung ist nicht schwer. Das bedeutet weniger verbrauchen und mehr nutzen. Wenn mehrere Personen in Wohngemeinschaften die Einrichtung und Haushaltsgeräte teilen, haben alle was davon.
Konsumverhalten ändern
Wer etwas Gutes für sich, die Umwelt und die eigene Region tun möchte, kauft regional ein, um heimische Bauern zu unterstützen. Je kürzer der Transportweg, umso besser für den ökologischen Fußabdruck. Damit auch Liebhaber von tropischem Obst nicht auf ihre Bananen und Mangos verzichten müssen, sollte man zumindest auf das Fairtrade-Siegel achten.
Auch die Reduktion des Fleischkonsums gehört zu den nachhaltigen Lebensweisen. Man muss nicht zwingend für immer darauf verzichten, aber wenn Fleisch auf den Teller kommen soll, sollte es aus tiergerechter und heimischer Haltung kommen. Dasselbe gilt für Fisch. Dieser sollte nur verzehrt werden, wenn er aus zertifiziert nachhaltiger Fischerei stammt.
Eine weitere einfache Strategie des nachhaltigen Lebensstils ist es auf Einwegprodukte zu verzichten. Sie gehen auf Dauer nicht nur ins Geld, sondern produzieren auch viel unnötigen Müll. Eine gute Alternative dazu sind wiederverwendbare Produkte, die es zu fast allem gibt.
Übrigens: Auch bei Möbeln und Kleidung sind Secondhand oder Upcycling im Trend. Die nachhaltigste Art einzukaufen, ist, gar nicht erst neue produzieren lassen zu müssen. In Secondhand-Läden finden sich oft wahre Schätze von namhaften Designern zu günstigeren Preisen. Gebrauchte Möbel, Kleidung und Gegenstände aller Art kann man auch sehr gut erhalten und günstig auf Internetplattformen und via Apps erwerben und auch selbst weiter verkaufen.
Richtig Heizen
Je nach Zustand der Heizkörper sollte vor dem Beginn der Heizsaison (Oktober bis März) sichergestellt werden, dass die Heizkörper entlüftet wurden und die Thermostatköpfe funktionieren. Es ist auch nicht nötig die Räume zu stark aufzuheizen. Erstens schläft man in kühlen Räumen besser und zweitens führen starke Temperaturunterschiede zu Erkältungen. Zu den häufigsten Heizsünden gehören das Trocknen von Handtüchern auf dem Heizkörper und dauerhaft geöffnete Fenster bei aufgedrehter Heizung. Auch sollte man bei längeren Abwesenheiten die Heizung auf einer Basistemperatur anlassen, damit der Raum nicht auskühlt und sich kein Schimmel bilden kann.
Strom und Energie sparen
Klar: Strom aus erneuerbaren Energiequellen (Ökostrom) ist sauberer und mit einem Wechsel erreicht man sehr viel. Generell sollte man darauf achten, Strom nicht unnötig zu verbrauchen. Dazu gehört das Umstellen auf LED-Leuchten und bei Geräten, die dauerhaft Strom verbrauchen, den Stecker zu ziehen. Das heißt alle Ladegeräte und -Stationen wie z.B. Internetrouter und Mehrfachstecker sollten bei längerer Abwesenheit ausgeschaltet werden; das gilt auch für den Kühlschrank, der dann im Urlaubsmodus gefahren werden sollte. Ebenso reduziert die Anschaffung von energieeffizienten Haushaltsgeräten den Energieverbrauch. Bei der Anschaffung sollte auf Geräte mit Energieeffizienzklasse A++ oder besser zurückgegriffen werden.
Zero-Waste-Strategie
Ein Großteil des Plastikmülls kann zwar recycelt werden, dennoch ist es deutlich nachhaltiger, diesen Müll einfach zu vermeiden. Wer eine eigene Tragetasche zum Einkaufen mitnimmt, spart einiges an Plastikmüll ein. Viele Lebensmittel brauchen keine extra Verpackung. Eine coole, nachhaltige Einkaufsalternative sind verpackungsfreie Supermärkte, zu denen man eigene Vorratsdosen mitnehmen kann.

WG statt “Versingelung”
Die Umwandlung in der Bischofsheimer gibt auch einem Projekt Raum, das – kurz gesagt – eine Erwachsenen-WG für junge Berufstätige aus unterschiedlichen Herkunftsländern darstellt. Projektleiterin Inna Ramm, die Hauptmieterin der möblierten Wohngemeinschaft ist, verfolgt mit Ihrer Projektbegleiterin Alexandra Snatschkowska, gleich mehrere Ziele. Sie will ein alternatives Wohnmodell zu der „Versingelung in Mikroapartments“ bieten. Es soll der gesellschaftliche Zusammenhalt gestärkt und gleichzeitig der Energieverbrauch reduziert werden. Inna Ramm, Diplom-Soziologin mit dem Schwerpunkt Stadt- und Wohnsoziologie, beschäftigt sich seit 2008 mit dem Thema Wohngemeinschaften für Berufstätige und Wohnwandei (siehe Interview unten). Alexandra Snatschkowska studierte Wirtschaftsinformatik mit dem Schwerpunkt Social Media in der Immobilienwirtschaft.

Inna created the concept of flat shares for young professionals, while still studying social sciences, cultural anthropology, and social psychology. Additionally, she operated in an architectural and planning office. Planning and designing living spaces were inspiring her to start her own Start-up. In the process, she has scientifically engaged herself in the topics of Co-Living, sustainable living, and sufficiency.
As an experienced flat-sharing resident for many years, she places great value on clear structures as well as open and friendly communication with HABITATOR residents.
Her vision is to establish and develop the guiding idea of sharing economy and apartment communities in big cities.
Our French born and raised Nico, came to Frankfurt after studying computer sciences and works as a professional photographer and software developer ever since. He makes sure the apartments have quick and easily accessible WI-FI, as well as updating current and beautiful pictures of the rooms.
As an eco-freak and avid cyclist, Nico regularly contributes to the expansion of safe bike lanes in the city of Frankfurt am Main. His vision is to live in a bike-friendly green city.
Artem originates from St. Petersburg and, as an all-around handyman, is prepared for just about anything life throws at him. As a janitor in our project, he is responsible for the maintenance of the apartments, the assembly of the furniture as well as for cosmetic repairs and renovation measures.
When it comes to our regular handyman marathons, he is always on site with all the necessities.
Annas fascination and adoration for bright and colorful colors are a perfect fit for our vision and project. She has captured the projects fun and versatility in our homepage perfectly.
